Thank you for your interest in applying to the WA SBIR/STTR Matching Fund Grant. 

Please review the information that is provided here to ensure that you are eligible to be considered for this grant.

Each applicant will need to meet the Mandatory Criteria. Once the mandatory criteria has been met, consideration will be given to the applicants who meet the Preference Criteria.

Once the application has been completed, the application will be reviewed for accuracy and completeness by checking in the federal database found at: https://www.sbir.gov/sbirsearch/award/all or directly with a program officer at the awarding agency. All valid and verified applications will then become part of the pool of potential awardees.

 Mandatory Criteria

  • Washington based life science companies
  • Developing technology that will improve the health and well-being of Washington Citizens
  • Phase I SBIR/STTR awardee who has initiated but not completed work on their funded Phase I SBIR/STTR award
  • Received no more than 2 grants total from this program

While all Washington based life science companies that meet the above criteria will be eligible, grants will be prioritized to entrepreneurs in several categories that have not traditionally received as much funding. If sufficient applications meeting those criteria are not received, applicants not meeting any of the preference criteria will be considered.
